Description
On their Triple B Records debut Dive, Westpoint deliver a modern take on the snotty alt-rock of bands like Superchunk and Piebald. Through five songs on this EP, angst and indecisiveness echo through the distortion & reverb soaked guitars to demonstrate that although Westpoint is a young band, their songs are ache with the maturity and finesse of veteran band. Just like hometown contemporaries like Title Fight and Superheaven, Westpoint are able to invoke the sound of bands like The Smashing Pumpkins and the Pixies with the spirit of today’s youth to create something memorable, thought-provoking, and catchy. Five songs are rarely enough to completely satisfy any listener, but Dive is a record filled with potential, teasing the huge future Westpoint is destined to fulfill.
